Maintenance suggestions for glass edger

Glass edge grinding machine is one of the earliest and most widely used mechanical equipment among glass deep processing equipment. The main function is to smooth glass and make some special shapes. Correct and reasonable use of the edge grinder can not only ensure normal production, but also extend the life of the machine. Conventional edging machines are divided into single-arm special-shaped edging machines, linear edging machines, template edging machines, and CNC edging machines.

Glass edging machines mainly use grinding head motors and grinding wheels to grind and polish glass. Ordinary single-sided/double-sided edging machines can achieve rough grinding, fine grinding, and polishing in one go. Customers can choose different grinding wheels according to their own processing requirements.
GLASS EDGING MACHINE
For glass edge grinding machines, I can provide the following usage and maintenance suggestions:

1. Check the grinding wheel before use to ensure that its surface is smooth and not damaged, otherwise it will affect the edge grinding quality.

2. Don’t adjust the speed too fast. Generally, 1200-3500 rpm is appropriate to prevent heat from affecting the glass.

3. Place the glass firmly on the workbench, adjust the height, and ensure that the glass is vertical and in proper contact with the grinding wheel.

4. During the edging process, carefully control the edging width and depth, and do not grind too much glass.

5. The water pipe that sprays the grinding wheel for cooling should be checked regularly to see if it is clogged to prevent abnormal water discharge.

6. After grinding, remove surface dust and check edge quality to ensure there are no burrs or chipping marks.

7. Clean the surface of the grinding wheel promptly after use to remove glass slag. Check and replace severely worn grinding wheels.

8. Regularly add lubricating oil to the rotating parts of the machinery to ensure smooth operation. Check whether screws and rivets are loose.

9. Cover the machine with a dust cover and store it in a dry place to avoid corrosion.

10. Regular maintenance can greatly extend the service life of the edge grinder.
